In my last post, I mentioned that I had patched Novacom to work in Fedora and was packaging it. Thanks to Mohamed El Morabity’s review, Novacom is now in Fedora 15+ as well as EPEL 5 and 6.
So if you’re running Fedora or RHEL with EPEL enabled, installing novacom is as easy as:
yum install novacom

Used it in F16, great. Doesn’t seem to be present in F17…

F17 is frozen right now. Novacom will be available in the first set of updates. Until then, you can run “yum –enablerepo=updates-testing install novacom”.

I had been trying to get novacom running to access my Pre 3, to no avail.
Then I read your previous blog post, rebuilt the srpms from the review, installed the result, and everything worked.
Yesterday when updating my laptop, I saw the latest novacom coming from the repositories, replacing the ones I had rebuilt myself.

Sounds like a win to me. Thank you. :)
